The first lady of Czech dermatovenerology is a world-renowned capacity in her field. She is the medical director of the private dermatology clinic Dermatology Prof. Hercogova, for 26 years she was the head of the Dermatovenerology Department of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine Charles University at the Bulovka University Hospital in Prague she is the head of the IKEM dermatovenerology clinic in Prague. Her scientific research activity is focused on the treatment of skin manifestations of Lyme disease, vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, skin tumors, immunosuppressive treatment after transplantation and biological treatment. She participates in the introduction of new treatment and diagnostic methods of skin diseases, e.g. photopheresis methods in the treatment of cutaneous lymphomas. She solves research grants, supervises postgraduate students. In 2012, she became the president of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) as the first Czech and the first woman in history. She was the president of the European (2002) and World (2009) Dermatology Congress in Prague. She is a visiting professor at dermatology clinics in Siena, Milan and Florence. Founder and long-term president of the Czech Academy of Dermatovenerology. Editor-in-chief of professional magazines (Czech dermatovenerology and Medicine after graduation). She has extensive publishing activity behind her, in 2019, she published the most comprehensive modern textbook of Clinical dermatovenerology.
