Prof. associato Paolo Gisondi, MD
is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Venereology and President of the Residence Program of the School of Specialization in Dermatology and Venereology at the University Hospital of Verona, Italy. He received his degree in medicine from the Catholic University of Rome in 1997 and then specialized in dermatology and venereology at the University of Parma in 2002. Before moving to Verona in 2006, he worked for two years at the Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata of Rome. He is an executive committee member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), and a member of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), member of EULAR task force on the “EULAR points to consider for the definition of clinical and imaging features suspicious for progression to psoriatic arthritis.” He is a Councilor of the International Psoriasis Council (IPC) and a member of the Italian Society of Dermatology (SIDEMAST). He has been Associate Editor of the British Journal of Dermatology for the Epidemiology Section, and Clinical Dermatology. He is an editorial Advisory Board member of the British Journal of Dermatology and of Dermatology and Therapy. His main scientific interests include the epidemiological, clinical, and therapeutic aspects of chronic plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Apart from clinical research, more than half of his working hours are dedicated to the outpatient clinic including dermatological basic surgery.
