Prof. associato Paolo Gisondi, MD

is an Asso­ci­ate Pro­fess­or of Der­ma­to­logy and Venere­ology and Pres­id­ent of the Res­id­ence Pro­gram of the School of Spe­cial­iz­a­tion in Der­ma­to­logy and Venere­ology at the Uni­ver­sity Hos­pit­al of Ver­ona, Italy. He received his degree in medi­cine from the Cath­ol­ic Uni­ver­sity of Rome in 1997 and then spe­cial­ized in der­ma­to­logy and venere­ology at the Uni­ver­sity of Parma in 2002. Before mov­ing to Ver­ona in 2006, he worked for two years at the Isti­tuto Dermo­patico dell’Immacolata of Rome. He is an exec­ut­ive com­mit­tee mem­ber of the European Academy of Der­ma­to­logy and Venere­ology (EADV), and a mem­ber of the Group for Research and Assess­ment of Psori­as­is and Psori­at­ic Arth­rit­is (GRAPPA), mem­ber of EULAR task force on the “EULAR points to con­sider for the defin­i­tion of clin­ic­al and ima­ging fea­tures sus­pi­cious for pro­gres­sion to psori­at­ic arth­rit­is.” He is a Coun­cilor of the Inter­na­tion­al Psori­as­is Coun­cil (IPC) and a mem­ber of the Itali­an Soci­ety of Der­ma­to­logy (SIDEMAST). He has been Asso­ci­ate Edit­or of the Brit­ish Journ­al of Der­ma­to­logy for the Epi­demi­ology Sec­tion, and Clin­ic­al Der­ma­to­logy. He is an edit­or­i­al Advis­ory Board mem­ber of the Brit­ish Journ­al of Der­ma­to­logy and of Der­ma­to­logy and Ther­apy. His main sci­entif­ic interests include the epi­demi­olo­gic­al, clin­ic­al, and thera­peut­ic aspects of chron­ic plaque psori­as­is and psori­at­ic arth­rit­is. Apart from clin­ic­al research, more than half of his work­ing hours are ded­ic­ated to the out­pa­tient clin­ic includ­ing der­ma­to­lo­gic­al basic surgery.
